Second Line
Yesterday, was going to go out to a guy's place where I could install a mailbox in order to get mail delivered. (The lengths these days!) Things came up, but anyway while out I randomly encountered some amazingly incredible parts of New Orleans. The city is thriving with interesting neighborhoods. No surprise that many people consider it the most unique city in America. I love New Orleans!!!
Along the way, I also encountered a huge moving street party, a parade. I learned that it belongs to Second Line, a weekly communal gathering that brings together many people in joyful celebration. Just a random day or weekend or hour or minute in New Orleans is so packed full of life and celebration, it puts other American cities to shame. In this way, and many others, it reminds me of Mexico. People out and about, enjoying life. Eating well, dancing, singing, playing, flying the colors, living the life. Orale!
New Orleans has so much happening all the time, it's like a kaleidoscopic magic carpet ride, or something. My camera's still out of space, anyway I don't think that pictures could do it even the slightest justice. Just go and see for yourself!
Wow, I love New Orleans.
Rock & Roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
