Plis panse sou plan vwayaj mwen an!
I think it's critical to be yourself and be confident about yourself, whoever you are! :)
More cars burning, violent conflicts in Gwadloup!
I think I just watched a video in "Kreyolglish" -- like Spanglish but for Kreyol. :)
I'm now thinking travel thoughts again, in a serious planning manner. The last times I tried this exercise it didn't work out due to Coronavirus. Will it work out this time?
With the island burning and the ferries returning, it remains too iffy to go in 2021. I'm aiming tentatively for mid-January 2022. Potential issues: tough entry requirements in Dominica, barricades/fires/riots in Gwadloup.
I figure if I go in mid-January that leaves enough time for the two vaccine shots on the likely-seeming assumption that they'll still be necessary to enter Dominica. I want to hit the road again by like March/April, I was thinking internationally. I suppose if I only leave Kapeste around then it would be fine, but I'd probably rather have those extra months (January-March-ish) around Marie Galante than Kapeste.
Jajaj, great search string for finding Worlds O Wisdom: "can iguanas eat ice cream" :)
Another: "el burrito albino pdf" :)
Do they have faecesbook yet?
So much marketing crap out there, not sure what to do with it!
Communism you're broke, capitalism you're spammed!
Make things tight and compact and nice! :)
This weather makes me feel like crud, but this rum makes me feel better! :)
Coronavirus is BS, let's terminate the political mess!
I just wanna travel, have fun, etc.! :)
Why doesn't Harvard have a weird lady sex major? School is messed up.
Hint: school sucks. They've had fascist school, commie school, and today's jackass school. Ignore what they teach, do your own thing! :) (Some exceptions apply, there are good things about school too!)
Be yourself!!!!! :) forget the rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
I think it's more useful to learn phrases than grammar in another language. i.e. practice instead of school.
In practice I think that the photo/data setup I now have will be useful for the upcoming years. Same for many of the other infrastructure things I've set up while in Gwad.
Freedom instead of templates! Originality!!!!! :)
I think the present day with Coronavirus bureauracy and other problems constitutes a situation where the usual political systems have failed badly enough for people to resist. This happens somewhat regularly, e.g. in the twentieth century there were far more severe failures. Every now and then it takes a refresh, in some cases bloody. Better if peaceful.
A thousand dollar bottle of wine isn't that different than a ten dollar bottle of wine, and a million dollar car isn't that different than a ten thousand dollar car. The expensive products are somewhat louder but do basically the same thing. Doesn't seem worth going crazy for money beyond security and the other basics.
Kreyol is a fun language to learn! I'm still struggling in spoken conversation, but somewhat better, and I can now chat by text, and read and write half-decently.
I like the Kreyol grammar better than English, French, or other languages I know. It's simple, easy to use. Does away with tons of useless crud that accumulated in other languages. For example, gender and conjugation.
It's funny how some words from French are "frozen" in some specific conjugation, then reactivated for Kreyol with just that tense for whatever other uses. For instance, "gen" (to have), which I think may derive from French "j'ai un", can also be "you have", "they have", "there is/are", etc.
Learning a new language feels like playing a game. At least for the languages I'm learning now (Kreyol, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.) I think also for learning languages in general. I like the Spanish/Portuguese grammar for flexibility, it's fun, if somewhat more difficult than Kreyol. In Kreyol, I like the surprise of finding French words buried within Kreyol words when you figure out the pronunciation.
English seems simple enough in comparison to most languages, w/ somewhat more unnecessary complexity than Kreyol. Tough to evaluate that fairly, since I think one's biased about one's native language.
Things go slow then fast. Each has its advantages and disadvantage. Things now seem remarkably quiet, which I'm appreciating. Another welcome opportunity to rest up for the next busy time, which I think is coming early-ish in the new year!
Unsure exactly when to go, looking for a timely opportunity without riots, travel bans, etc. I'm thinking probably January/February/March. Somewhat scared of going back out there, also confident and mainly excited! :)
Mwen pral monte bisiklet la pou vwayaje byento!!!!! :)
