Phase Q/Revelations

The spinning disc slowly, gradually rolls through the four and a half lightyears of dark space.

The numbers keep turning, mounting higher, as the disc calculates the different concepts for the people on the local planet.

As the disc rotates around the planet, it beams thoughts into the minds of the planetary residents. Then, the people speak their minds, and act as if the thoughts are their own.

Another planet orbiting around the same star doesn’t have such a disc. Instead, its people spent most of their resources on building a gigantic sensoscope. With it, they constantly monitor the disc planet. Then, whenever the disc planetians say something, the sensoscopians utter the same thought, pretending it was their own.

Sensoscopia has a moon. The moon receives shadows cast from the planet, constantly informing the moon people of what happens on their gravitational anchor. The moon people don’t imitate the planetarians, though. They just send out a stream of artificial noise meant to disrupt any meaningful conversations.

The star around which these people orbit looks like many other stars, from the outside. However, within it there is a population of highly intelligent creatures. These creatures dislike communication so much that they intentionally seeded the planets and moon with life, just so that it would evolve into the kinds of being who fake or interfere with meaningful discussions.

The stellar population itself likes to come up with creative solutions to math problems, each person individually solving the same problem, so that they have a million different answers to a handful of questions, instead of a handful of answers to a million different questions. It makes sense to them.

The star casts off waves of chemical and magnetic emissions. These emissions make the people of other nearby stellar systems extremely happy. They act as a kind of euphoriant. Any particles that come into contact with the chemagnet mix instantly reconfigure themselves into a high density of happyons.

This whole region of space orbits in a corner of the metaverse so remote from anything else, that ever since life formed here spontaneously, and right up until the end of spacetime, no other regions ever interact with this region.

Yet, the stars within this region live peaceful, happy lives. They evolve, they grow and learn, they try new things and occasionally go on vacation, and overall they have a good quality of life. Many other regions would be envious, if they knew of this region’s existence.

In their relative seclusion, this quiet region stumbles upon several important secrets. What makes for a rich and meaningful life? What kind of work should you do? Who should be your friends and loved ones? What is the good life? These and other questions have very easy and obvious answers, once you figure them out.
