Phase Q/Interconnections
Flash!
You find yourself floating in a gently warm pool of water.
Flash!
You float through empty space, a million miles from nowhere.
Flash!
You do battle on a futuristic battlefield, almost by sense of thought.
Flash!
You inhale a warm glowing haze of joy.
Flash!
The scenes change abruptly. Rotating seemingly randomly through many different worlds, you rematerialize repeatedly.
Each time, the environs look quite different. Each time, the people seem vaguely familiar, yet simultaneously foreign.
You examine your own status indicators. Now that you have a metamorphic body, you keep an indicator bar handy, so that you can quickly get an update on who you are amid all the constant changes.
Health: 40
Energy: 727
Mind: -
Property: 14
You should have added some units to your status indicator.
As the worlds change, you find that to some extent you can now flip at will among the locations. On your whim, you flash into a lake, swimming alongside speaking water creatures. An urge comes and you flash into a starry night sky, observing your planetary self from above.
Hm.
You’ve never seen yourself from that angle before. Nice shadows, although quite a lot of girth around your equator.
Your energy meter suddenly plunges to zero. Right before it hits, you flash again, too quickly to select in which world to rematerialize.
Huh.
In front of you, an angry Fyuchee in bright yellow outfit glares at you.
This isn’t ideal.
You start to talk to the Fyuchee, and find that your words come out in dozenspeed, the Fyuchee mode of speech.
“I came here by mistake. I mean, I’m happy to be here, but I didn’t mean to intrude on you. Are you doing any sensitive operations now? I’ve known some Flowrisers and I’ve even done some work with you.”
It’s actually several thousand times faster than your native language.
“Exit forbidden property now,” says the Fyuchee.
As you struggle anxiously, you notice peripherally that your energy bar has return to a higher number. Without sparing another thought, you rematerialize into a simpler world.
Creatures roam freely. It looks like an island of sorts. Or maybe a peninsula. You see many large animals, some familiar from your youth. The place comes as something of a relief, although you feel like you’re not supposed to be here, either.
“Hello? Anyone around?” you ask.
A giant panda replies, “What do you want?”
Hm.
You go over to a giraffe feeding area. The animals munch peacefully on leaves.
Ah!
Over there, in a small clearing, by the mouth of a cave. You see a familiar form. Upright walking creatures. Like you used to be.
“Hello, how are you?” you ask.
A person in business attire comes out of the cave. “Welcome, friend.”
You look around the motley crew in bewilderment.
In a roughly circular arrangement, a primitive member of the species beats on a rock, while others jump up and down, or fight, or nurse young. The people seem to come from all different time periods, and places.
“Oh, hi,” you say. “What’s going on here?”
“We’re building a stable community,” says the businessperson.
