Should you respect other people?
Yes! According to many references[edit]
Respect has a way of helping to smooth out interpersonal issues, while creating happiness and fulfilling other values.
It can be hard to see beyond your own prejudices. For example, by nature humans tend to see themselves as better than other humans, and groups to which they belong as better than other groups. This can distort discussions and actions. Instead, by showing respect, you can transcend traditional barriers and form a greater, better outcome.
What about harmful people?[edit]
If someone acts harmfully, should you disrespect them?
In order to alter their behavior? Or for more abstract values such as truth and justice?
Or should you disrespect the action but still respect the person?
Or should you just respect the person anyway, despite the harmfulness?
