Tranquility/Laser fight

Drawing your laser blazer, you set it to max and fire away. Streaks of light flash back and forth between you and the warrioress. Glow Zoondon is gone.

A shot blows off your arm.

"Oh, Jeeggers!" you yell, with fiery burning pain scorching through half your body.

Scrambling around on the ground, with laser shots continuing to zoom by you overhead, you pick up a piece of mirrarmor debris, and throw it into the trajectory of laser blazer shots. A beam glances off the shard, splitting into thousands of stray rays. Dense light hits a tank of compressed magnesium, blowing up two thirds of the room.

Amid smoke and fire and agonized screams, you drag yourself to the edge of the spiral nexus.

• With an exacting effort, you pull yourself into the nexus, one arm short.
