The Shiny Concrete
Once upon a time, there was a little piece of concrete. It didn't think many thoughts. However, when it came to sitting around and doing nothing, it excelled.
One day, sitting in the hot sun, as the little piece of concrete liked to do, an idea came upon it.
"I know, I will become the best and brightest little piece of concrete in the whole wide world," it would have said, if little pieces of concrete could talk.
The sun replied:
"Thank you for all the hard work you do. I will continue to shine on you anyways, so you just go ahead and do what you have to do, to become the best and brightest little piece of concrete in the whole wide world."
So the little piece of concrete set about working hard, each day becoming a little stronger. One day, it became so strong that it could lift itself up, and move itself under the sun. That way, even when a cloud passed and shadows came about, the little piece of concrete could still move itself into the sun, and shine ever more brightly.
Thus, the little piece of concrete became the best and brightest in the whole wide world.
Moral: Work hard, think a little bit, do the best that you can, and shine brightly! :)
