Phase Q/Dropping In
Ten years later.
A flash of light emerges in the sky.
On the beach, an older man is making it with his cousin.
“What the dark?!” he says.
“By Zeus!” screams the tryst partner.
The island shakes, like it’s undergoing an earthquake.
A crowd of villagers pour out of their huts. They come running around the side of the island. On arriving at the scene of the tryst, the villagers express shock and outrage.
“Burn the witches!”
The hotly glowing light descends. It expands. It brightens.
A villager with a baby on her shoulder steps back into the crowd.
“Show’s over, folks,” says the divinely brilliant voice.
The villagers hurl rocks at the light, to little effect.
“Not so fast,” speaks a surprising voice.
The air splits apart, to reveal a war machine with a Ruffy emblem.
“What do you care,” sneers the light.
“These are our cousins,” says a computerized voice emerging from the ship.
The older man on the beach withdraws, halfway between fear and confusion.
The bright light splits apart into different hues. It wraps around the Ruff craft, which has deployed a defensive system.
“Dark you!” yells a voice from the villagers.
Suddenly the sky is full of clashing Flowrisers and Ruffians.
A young man among the villagers looks wistfully at the waves breaking against the shore.
An angry villager hurls a spear through the youngster’s back. He slowly bleeds to death, paralyzed and suffocating.
The forces of light and roughness battle it out, midair.
The island blips out of existence.
Leaving the peace, the quiet, the tranquility.
Clarity.
What happens next in the middle of a spherical vortex out in wild galactic arms could show up in the history of a future world. However, with Zonnyxes struggling to regroup within the vortex, and no one else around to observe, the events happen without note.
Afterwards, the Zonnyxes emerge from their artificial vortex. They have reconfigured themselves into a different architecture.
You glance through the holonotes from you inventory. Each one holds a beautiful secret.
The Zonnyxes come charging out. A core feature imprinted into each new node’s main code is still to destroy all other life forms. However, now they have a more practical approach, and a hundred thousand times better equipment.
You find the faces refreshing. After a lot of your recent adventures in abstract realms, it feels good to go through some personal stories again.
The Zonnyxes swarm through intergalactic space.
You remember some of the innocent times before you had politics and warfare on your mind.
A new voltaic pattern starts to emanate from in front of the Zonnyx force.
You think fondly of some of your constituents.
The underlying structure of reality continues to change.
As you flip through the stack of holonotes, one in particular catches your attention.
The links of quantum matter flip, the inversion rapidly spreads across space, and all the particles and elements and organisms that depend on it lose their essence.
You beam the information into your mind, through your optonts.
Things change.
