And the following Thursday, sitting in the back seat of a personnel transporter, you notice a drawing sitting underneath on eof the seats.
Huh.
A previous person must have dropped it there.
You pick it up, and glance through.
Huh.
Looks like some kind of map, showing locations of interest. You search for a legend, but find none.
Huh.
You’ve heard of one of these places before. Legend has it that this is where a secret meeting of dreamers takes palce.
Maybe these are dreamer hideouts?
You glance around and see that no one has noticed your find.
Pocketing the map, you carry on with your mission.
The transporter arrives at a rough building. It looks incomplete. You exit the vehicle along with the other bodies. Together, you surround the building. Rapidly seizing control, you storm through the rooms blasting away anything that moves.
After your team has cleared its part of the building, you sync up with the rest. All clear.
The building is under control. Soon your group has established a local control station in one of the top floor rooms. Within, a range of fancy electronics help you monitor the surround neighborhood. Like a h eartbeat, you feel the rhythm of the streets.
Birds fly by. You watch the blips that represent even the tiniest animal. It feels great after the heavy action in the building to take a higher view of the scene. Your heartbeat renormalizes.
Together with the other tacs, you have formed one of the top performing Trad squads. You now have over fifteen hundred Fyuchy skulls to your combined credit. And you’re just getting going on the dreamers.
It feels really great to perform your duty to the country. And to have a team of highly capable compas. Together, you make society a cleaner, more stable and reliable place.
When the dreamers came on the scene, you got a company-wide notice. Lots of activity in your sector. Those scum think they can think freely at a time like this, having childish dreams while the heartland burns.
You are here to put an end to this nonsense. From your command post, you and the squad send out a robotic detonator into the heart of the dream lair. Here, where naïve if not treasonous civilians come to share their dreams, you press the button and detonate the mininuke.
Khblhlkjlglkhlkhlkwlkhlkghlw!
The whole dream lair is gone, along with everything and everyone else in the surrounding five block radius.
Your monitor shows a dead signal from the neighborhood.
A little blip reflects a bit of fallout.
Lighting a cigar, you toast your squad.
“Good riddance to the dreamers! Let our land be free!”
“Cruzzy!”
