The formatting here is not very good. I would like to use italics, bold, etc. Formatting from Windows Word does not seem to survive cut and paste. Indent, using : seems to work. Italics, using ' seems to work.

Ha ha, just discovered it is basically html formatting. Been a long time since I used html.

~DonRiley~ I'm wondering about the cosmology of the end of the universe. I'm thinking that the universe, 10,000 years before 'The End' would be a very bleak and uninhabitable place. Doesn't seem like great conditions for this story to take place in. I can think of at least two ways to get around this.

1) Towards the end, the process accelerates greatly and for most of the 10,000 years the universe is habitable.

2) The story takes place maybe a million years before the end. During his explorations, Rigel, one way or another, is transported to the end of time.

The first one is probably the easiest to accomplish, as no time travel is involved.
