Sirens ring loudly.
You block out the sound as well as you can, which is not very.
Panic-stricken people run through the streets.
You look outside, and see a foamy haze filling the whole city.
Blocking off your intake of aerial toxins as well as you can, you go out into the streets.
A purple light flashes on your intercom.
Well, it’s not your intercom, but the intercom you’re carrying.
Triad squads out in the street go into riot mode, trying to control the city streets.
You open the intercom transception, and find a flurry of activity.
A flock of immense flying beasts soar low through the city streets, crying noisily.
The intercom warns all Flowrisers to evacuate the city.
You fly through the streets, looking for a safe exit.
The Triad squads open fire, killing any people in the way.
The air shakes, like the whole atmosphere is undergoing some kind of seizure.
You arrive at a blocked-off route out of the city, and find Triad squaddies beating and shooting Flowrisers.
The intercom bubbles with advice.
You fly up and over the block.
Triad squaddies fire after you.
“We have a purple alert! We have a purple alert!”
The cry screams out of the intercom, and out of the Triad block, and out of Fyuchee kits.
You dive for cover, then fly back up into the clouds.
The clouds fall down to the planet.
You come tumbling after.
In a blaze of heat and light, the planet fractures.
Triaddies and Fyuchees fall screaming into the gaping wound.
“We have a purple alert! We have a purple alert!”
The alarms and sirens and yelling and screaming carry on.
You fall into the gaping wound.
The planet swallows you up, burning you badly.
Your mind drifts off into another zone.
You find yourself in a Flowriser makeshift lab, on life support.
“We can’t take any more! We need all the energy we can get to undo the release!” screams a Fyuchee.
Voices and figures come and go, streaming past each other, bumping into each other.
“What the dark happened?!”
“We’ll get things back together soon!”
“Somebody let out a digistorm.”
“I told you, it was an accident!”
“It wasn’t ready yet!”
“Who let that thing have release access?!”
“We’re putting things back, it’ll only be another day or so!”
“Gahhhh!!!”
“We don’t have that much time!!!”
“What’s going on here?”
“We can’t take any more!”
As the hubbub continues, you see the flames coming closer to the lab.
Nobody else seems to take note.
Checking your status, you decide it’s better to risk it.
You sneak out of the lab.
Instantly, your empty bay is filled up with a burning, screaming victim.
You fly up, and realize that you’re in a free zone.
No wonder you were able to think for yourself!
And nobody even tried to arrest or destroy you.
“Purple alert! Purple alert!”
You decide it’s time to leave the city.
