A few million people advocate a vegetarian or vegan diets. Reasons include not causing pain or other harm to sentient animals, as well as purported health and environmental effects, among others.

Paleo

In recent years, advocates of alternative diets on the basis of what ancestral humans may have eaten propose altering the proportions of dietary components.
