Value

A value is a core concept in deciding what to do. Values are end goals, in a more general way. A value is an abstract preference, desire, taste, or other care.

What is a value?

A value is a guiding force in an agent's purpose, or intent. For example, a human may value love. A value can be satisfied to various levels through the achievement of more specific goals, such as having a loving relationship.

Where do values come from?

Values come from many different places or sources, depending on the agent. Some values evolved through natural selection. Other values come from religious or legal traditions. Yet other values are created artificially, designed by agents with existing value systems.
