Protein is one of the major building blocks of life. As such, it is critical to eat a lot of food containing protein.
You can get protein from food sources as well as from dietary supplements (such as sports drinks, mixes, bars, and similar).
Eating protein plentifully includes in sufficient quantity for your body size, and also including a balance of all the different kinds of amino acids.
For vegetarians, there has been some belief that lack of animal food sources could constrain dietary protein intake. However, many people currently believe that it is quite possible and in fact easy to get enough essential protein nutrients from a vegetable-based diet.
One possible difficulty faces people who eat primarily carbohydrates such as pasta, bread, rice, potatoes, and similar. Instead, it is important for you to include a healthy balance of foods in your diet. Basically the only diet that seriously threatens getting enough protein is a fruit-based diet with limited intake of foods other than fruits. However, if you find that you have any ongoing health concerns, then one place to consider starting is to incorporate a lot more protein into your diet.
